Our story
Hikari & Ink was born from a deep reverence for Japanese art and the timeless principles that guide its creation. Hikari, meaning light, represents the illumination that art brings to our lives. Ink honors the traditional medium that has shaped centuries of Japanese artistic expression.
Our philosophy

Each print is restored, printed, and framed by hand before finding its place in your home.
We believe that art is not merely decoration, but a pathway to contemplation, serenity, and connection with the natural world. Each piece in our collection is selected for its ability to create space for quiet reflection and its embodiment of Japanese aesthetic principles.
Our commitment extends beyond curation. Each print is meticulously digitally restored at our Colorado studio and then printed on museum-grade matte paper and hand framed at one of our regional production facilities within the United States. Our process ensures archival quality and reduces unnecessary shipping distance.

Our restoration process
The woodblock prints we curate were created centuries ago. Many have suffered from the passage of time—fading, damage, and deterioration. We employ a meticulous restoration process that honors the original artist's work while bringing these masterpieces back to their former glory. Each print undergoes careful color correction, damage repair, and precision enhancement, ensuring that every detail remains faithful to the original vision. Despite many of the originals being physically very small and or damaged, the end result is a museum-quality print that captures the vibrancy and beauty these works possessed when first created.
Museum-quality restoration
Each individual print undergoes our meticulous professional restoration and upscaling process, bringing centuries-old artwork back to life with stunning clarity and detail.
